Welcome to Canberra Living

November 23, 2010

Sydney and Melbourne are often praised for their culinary treats. Whether you’re enjoying coffee and a bagel sandwich, fish and chip fare with jugs of white wine sangria or a marinated butterfish grilled with pickled radish with a shiitake mushroom salad on the side, you can live a liftetime in either city participating in the creative competitive food culture.

Canberra is often viewed as a city with little more than politicians, porn and party poppers. Over the years, however, Canberra has developed markedly and continues to do so. That being said, there are noticable gaps in the market and dining out can be painstaking. Often a trip to a cafe where Maggie Beer casually dines will incur a 20 + minute wait to be seated, a last minute decision to grab a drink at a trendy new bar may be regretted while wading through the public servants just to find where to get your drinks. Two Slices offers candid and unbiased but also short and sharp reviews on restaurants, cafes, bars etc dotted about the city.
